Behind the Scenes- The other stuff I photograph (Space Coast Marathon)

Just hanging out, shooting the Space Coast Marathon... They make everyone run in space suits!

This past Sunday morning I headed down to downtown Cocoa, FL to be part of the team of photographers from MarathonFoto photographing the Space Coast Marathon & Half-Marathon.  They had about 4000 registered runners but the number of actual runners that showed up was a little less than that.  It was a cold morning, as you can see in the photo, I even had to break out my winter hat, and gloves.  My day started with taking fun candid photos of the runners and their families before the start, then I was positioned right along the river as the runners entered Riverfront Park in Cocoa, FL to get to the finish-line.  It was fun, and I always like when I get a chance to photograph things other than weddings and family portraits.

Weekends in May are all booked up

Dear Brides looking for a wedding photographer and Families wanting Portraits, I'm sorry, but I'm now all booked up for every weekend in May 2012, and the entire first week of June. So If you are planning a weekend wedding, or want some family portraits on a Saturday or Sunday, I can refer you to a couple other great local photographers.

I felt so bad when I had to turn a Bride-to-Be away today, after she told me she loved my style, and what I offered.

If you want to book a wedding or schedule a portrait session for a weekday in May, I will be offering some cool stuff... How's a complementary gallery wrapped print sound? Video-Slide Show? Guess you will just have to book me for a weekday shoot in May to find out what you will get.

As far as what will be taking all my Photo attention on the weekends, I also work as a photographer for GradImages®, and I will be photographing college and high school graduations... lot's and lot's of graduations. My schedule will send me through parts of 3 states though most will be in Central Florida. So good luck to all the students of the Class of 2012, I'll be there to make it memorable.

New Smyrna Beach Engagement Photographer: Ashlynd and Morgan

On Saturday I met with a really fun couple and their dog to shoot their engagement photos.  The photo session was scheduled to make the most of the time just before sunset, the "golden hour"as photographers call it.  The photo session was shot at Smyrna Dunes park on the North end of New Smyrna Beach, FL.  The photo session started with a walk along the boardwalk where I had a chance to get to know Ashlynd and Morgan as we walked and talked and I shot photos.  We made our way to the South jetty of Ponce Inlet on the beach which is where their wedding ceremony will be.  These shots are just a sample of the whole shoot but they are some of my favorite ones.

Their dog Timber was a great addition to the photo session.  He was really well trained and seemed to pose on command when needed.  He will also be the Ring-barer for the upcoming wedding.

We had some great light right before sunset.  We even ran into another photographer along the boardwalk who seemed to be shooting some senior portraits.

This is one of the shots where Timber seemed to pose right on command.

On of the shots I really like was this one which I just got just after I put my 50mm lens on my camera.  I really like the way this lens can really blur the background out completely so you focus only on the subject of the photo.

This photo session was a lot of fun.  Congratulations to Ashlynd and Morgan!

Thanks for letting me capture your love for each other.
